A two-year-old crossbreed named Jamie, abandoned at the RSPCA’s York facility in September 2023 after being tied to its gate, has now spent 400 days awaiting adoption. Personnel at the center expressed their wish to secure a new home for her prior to her experiencing a second Christmas under their guardianship. Mandy Broadhead, a representative of the charity, stated: “She can be timid around new people, but once you get to know her she’s incredibly loving and sweet.” Ms. Broadhead noted that Jamie’s arrival at the charity’s shelter over a year ago was unexpected. She elaborated: “We were all having our morning team meeting and looked out of the window to see someone had crept in and tied her to our gates.” While the charity successfully identified some former owners, Ms. Broadhead indicated it was “tricky to establish” Jamie’s precise origins due to her having been moved between various residences. The RSPCA reported that its York facility has facilitated the rehoming of 160 dogs during the current year. Ms. Broadhead commented: “Poor Jamie has had to sit at her kennel door and watch as they all go off to their new homes with their tails wagging.” Post navigation Children’s “Santa Squad” Distributes 2,500 Gifts to Vulnerable Individuals Basingstoke Family Displaced by Tumble Dryer Fire
