Two illuminated reindeer have been taken from a garden in Devon. Pauline Ajayi, the owner, described it as “baffling” why someone would steal their Christmas decorations from their property situated in the Tithebarn area of Exeter. Ms. Ajayi stated that the items were stolen on December 2, a day after her husband and two children had installed them. She indicated that the decorations were removed in the early hours and that the incident had been reported to the police. Ms. Ajayi recounted that an individual “cut all of the cables and wiring, then… came back for the second one.” She added, “We just couldn’t believe it… it was baffling.” The family initially did not report the incident to the police, but after a discussion with BBC Radio Devon, they decided to do so to “alert people.” She mentioned that another resident on the same street had also reported in a local group that some of their decorations had been stolen. Ms. Ajayi further commented: “This is Christmas season and the days get darker earlier.”When you are driving home, and as you get to your street, you expect to see everybody’s decorations lit-up. But now, on our street, it is all darkness.”The only decorations you will see is lights reflecting from people’s windows. It is dark now in my street, which is a shame.” Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that the decorations were stolen between 1:05 GMT and 1:46 on December 2. Police also noted, “The suspect was wearing a hoody with the hood up.” They urged, “Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any relevant CCTV or doorbell camera footage is asked to contact police online or by telephone.”
