Two individuals have been arrested subsequent to a man being stabbed in the street. Officers were dispatched to Marmion Road in Thorneywood, Nottinghamshire, after receiving reports on Sunday at approximately 18:25 GMT that a teenager on an e-scooter was being pursued by a group of youths attempting to rob him. Police indicated that a man sustained a serious stab wound to his stomach a short time after intervening in nearby Beecham Avenue. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. An 18-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent, and a 58-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting an offence and criminal damage. The man is still in police custody, while the woman has been granted bail as investigations continue. Detectives are currently analysing CCTV footage and conducting house-to-house inquiries in the area, police further stated. Det Sgt Hannah Frame commented: “We know this incident caused concern in the neighbourhood, so I’m pleased we can share this important update.“Neighbourhood teams have also been deployed on additional patrols to support the community.“A man remains in hospital having suffered a serious injury, and it is still vital that anyone with information comes forward and shares it with officers.” The force is requesting any CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone, or dashcam footage, and is also urging any witnesses to get in touch.
