Weather forecasters have issued a caution regarding “persistent and heavy” rainfall anticipated across the Essex area. The Met Office announced that a yellow weather warning will be active from 22:00 GMT on Tuesday until 12:00 on Wednesday. Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock are expected to bear the brunt of the precipitation, which could accumulate to 30-40mm in certain localities. Local residents have been advised that disruptions to both travel and infrastructure are probable during the period of adverse weather.
