West Midlands Police have confirmed the apprehension of five individuals in Wolverhampton following anti-weapon patrols. These operations were conducted in the city centre and Whitmore Reans, areas identified by authorities due to concerns regarding weapon possession. Among those detained, one man faces suspicion of aggravated burglary, involving the sighting of a knife, in addition to multiple other burglaries and thefts from vehicles. Separately, another man was apprehended in West Park after attempting to flee from officers, leading to a brief pursuit. The remaining three individuals were taken into custody on suspicion of burglary, harassment, and domestic assault. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police issued a statement, reiterating the force’s stance: “We take carrying a weapon seriously. If you know someone who is carrying a weapon please call us on 101 to report.
