Jersey’s fire service is actively seeking additional on-call firefighters. The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service announced that three introductory sessions are scheduled for November, targeting individuals “from all walks of life and backgrounds.” According to officials, these sessions will feature interactive elements, including simulated firefighting drills, and current firefighters will be available to address inquiries. The introductory sessions are planned for the service’s headquarters on 16 November between 11:00 and 15:00 GMT. A session exclusively for females will be held on 23 November, and the concluding session is set for 26 November between 18:30 and 21:00. Prospective on-call firefighters are required to satisfy specific fitness standards and various other conditions, including availability for training on designated days. The service stated that those who are successfully recruited would “play a part in strengthening and protecting our community.” Individuals interested in applying have until 30 November to submit their applications.
