Norwich City aims to regain form when they host Burnley at Carrow Road this Sunday afternoon. The Canaries currently occupy 10th position, having secured only two victories in their last 11 Championship matches, which has caused them to lose momentum in the play-off contention. Meanwhile, the Clarets, positioned third, have maintained an unbeaten streak of seven games; however, three draws within this period have resulted in them ceding ground to the leading pair, Sheffield United and Leeds. Norwich has recorded only one win in their last 10 league encounters with Burnley (three draws, six losses), and notably, they have not scored in five of their last six games against the Clarets. Conversely, Burnley has secured two victories in their most recent three away league fixtures against Norwich (one loss), matching their total number of wins from their preceding 16 visits (three draws, 11 losses). At Carrow Road, Norwich has already achieved 12 league victories in 2024, a tally they last surpassed in a single year in 2018, when they recorded 13 wins. Furthermore, they have netted a minimum of three goals in five of their last seven league matches played on their home ground. Burnley enters the match unbeaten in their last three away league games (two wins, one draw) and has the opportunity to equal a club record of four consecutive clean sheets in league matches on the road, a feat last accomplished in October 1980. This season, Burnley has allowed only four goals across 10 away league games, making them just the second team in Championship history (since the 2004-05 season) to concede fewer than five goals in their initial 10 away fixtures of a season. The only other team to achieve this was Reading in the 2005-06 season, who conceded three goals. Sandi Toksvig will be accompanied by Gyles Brandreth, Lulu, Emmanuel Sonubi, and Alan Davies. Opportunities are available to perform songs by Queen, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, and other artists. Ben Fogle and Kate Humble return for the celebratory events at Longleat Safari Park. Topics range from microplastics found in air, soil, and waterways, to the volume of food waste observed during this period of the year. © 2024 BBC.
