A teenager, previously the subject of international news due to his father dressing him as a Yorkshire pudding, has launched a charity Christmas single. James Paley adorned his 13-year-old son, Aaron, in the crusty batter for Halloween, leading to their appearance on ITV’s This Morning. The duo, residents of Southend-on-Sea, collaborated with a local songwriter to release the track “All I Am” on Friday. The family expressed their hope that the piano ballad would generate funds for the National Autistic Society and the NSPCC. Mr. Paley, who serves as the landlord of the Saxon King pub in Southend, stated: “It is a phenomenal cause, it resonates with so many people and when people listen to it you can see it on their face that it really hits home”. The songwriter, Mark Shrimpton, has a son who has autism. In an interview with BBC Essex, Aaron commented: “I think it is really cool because it could go somewhere, and as we have quite a lot of followers on TikTok and they’re all following along the journey of Yorkshire Pudding boy, it is a good next step.” The single is considered among the bookmakers’ top contenders for the Christmas title, despite facing competition from Wham and Band Aid 40.
