Rail operations are experiencing interruptions because of a “possible issue with the track” identified at Leatherhead. National Rail announced the implementation of a speed restriction across all lines, cautioning passengers about potential delays reaching up to 15 minutes. Anticipated disruptions affect South Western Railway routes connecting Dorking/Guildford and London Waterloo, alongside Southern services operating between Horsham/Dorking and London Victoria. The railway company advised that passengers with tickets may still utilize their customary routes, but should allocate extra time for their journeys. These delays are projected to continue until 14:00 GMT. Network Rail stated: “Southern are working with track engineers to ensure repairs are planned and completed as quickly as possible. “Often, if these works involve the route being closed or a need for complex machinery, they’ll need to happen overnight or during a weekend closure. “Speed restrictions help prevent any further track damage until this is done.” For updates, follow BBC Surrey on Facebook and X.
