Luke Williams stated that Swansea City’s players must contend with the significant pressure to score goals. On Saturday, Swansea experienced a difficult loss against Millwall. Despite generating several chances to break their scoring dry spell, the team conceded a late winning goal from Casper de Norre, which was Millwall’s sole opportunity during the match. Williams’ squad has now gone 525 minutes of play without scoring, with their most recent goal having been recorded on 29 September against Bristol City. In the 2024-25 season, they rank as the lowest-scoring team in the second tier, having scored just eight goals in their initial 12 league fixtures. Williams commented, “There’s a lot of noise around football and Championship level is a big level,” He continued, “If that affects the players, I’m sorry but you have to get on with it because there isn’t a single striker on the planet who isn’t under pressure and doesn’t feel some pressure to score a goal.” Williams concluded, “We have to overcome that, for sure.” Swansea is scheduled to play again next Saturday against Oxford United, where they will attempt to score a goal for the first time in six league matches.
