Swansea Manager Praises Team’s “Great Pride” After Aberystwyth Victory

Following Swansea City’s 3-1 victory against Aberystwyth Town on Sunday, manager Jamie Sherwood stated that his team’s performance warranted “great pride”. This result marked a positive return to victories for the Swans ahead of a week featuring three matches. The team currently occupies third place in the Adran Premier, trailing The New Saints by only three points and possessing a game in hand. Nia Jones secured an early advantage for the Swans at Llandarcy, followed by Jess Williams heading in Emily Richards’ corner to extend the lead to 2-0. Rebecca Mathias narrowed the deficit to 2-1 before halftime, but Aimee Deacon scored her eighth goal of the season to secure the full three points for her side. Sherwood commented, “We are pleased; pleased with the performance and pleased with the result.” He added, “The girls should take great pride in what they’ve done today, they’ve shown a lot of personality off the ball, and we were really pleased with the chances we took and created.” Sherwood further stated, “We set out our game plan and know what we are capable of achieving.
