An admirer of Ed Sheeran described encountering the musician on the Suffolk coast as “a nice surprise”. Amanda Jane was strolling along Southwold seafront with a friend and their children when they observed film crews positioned near the beach huts. She mentioned that she understood the former Framlingham schoolboy was engaged in filming, but she “plucked up the courage” to request a photograph, confessing she “almost bottled it”. Sheeran is currently shooting a video alongside Bridgerton star Claudia Jessie for an upcoming song, which is set to appear in a Netflix film titled That Christmas, directed by Richard Curtis. Ms Jane recounted: “Me and a friend just happened to plan a walk along the beach with our children – we were actually going to go to Lowestoft beach but decided on Southwold. We spent a few minutes watching and distracting the kids with their lunch before plucking up the courage to go over and ask for a photo. I’ve heard it was for filming linked to a song he is releasing for a Christmas animation film – Claudia Jessie, who is Eloise in Bridgerton, was there with him.” Ms Jane reported that the celebrity, recognized for popular songs like Thinking Out Loud and Perfect, readily interacted with admirers who were present at the filming location. She further commented: “We didn’t stay long after as the children were too focused on their food – my daughter was totally oblivious eating her iced gems. But it was a nice surprise, he was very polite and approachable, happily had photos with people passing by. Everyone was respectful and left him to it, waiting for convenient times to approach. It was nice to see him remaining local for filming.”
