An eight-year-old boy from Earlsdon is currently appearing in the CBeebies television program, I Can Do It, You Can Too. This program, designed for children to teach skills they have acquired to their peers, marked Caleb’s debut on television. During the episode, he was instructed in the sport of squash by Zoya, an enthusiastic player. Caleb stated he “feels like a star” following a special viewing party hosted by his family, complete with a red carpet, to celebrate his first appearance on screen. His mother, Faye, explained that she discovered the opportunity after encountering an online application form. After completing the form, detailing Caleb’s abilities and desired learning experiences, he received an invitation for an online interview with the production crew. Soon after, he found himself holding a squash racquet while filming. Caleb expressed his excitement about learning the dynamic sport and his enjoyment of the filming process, noting that “cameras were everywhere.” He characterized the experience as “amazing” and conveyed his aspiration to perform on stage in the future. Faye also mentioned that watching him on television evoked a feeling of being “extremely proud.” Caleb is scheduled to appear in an upcoming episode of the program, where he will assume the role of coach, guiding his partner on how to navigate a wobbly bridge. I Can Do It, You Can Too can be viewed on CBeebies and the BBC iPlayer. For updates, follow BBC Coventry & Warwickshire on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X, and Instagram. Copyright 2024 BBC.
