Glamorgan secured the One-Day Cup in September, with Sam Northeast scoring an unbeaten 63 in their victory over Somerset. The Glamorgan team is scheduled to commence its One Day Cup trophy defense with two fixtures held in Neath during August. These matches, against Hampshire and Derbyshire, represent the sole home games played outside their primary Cardiff venue as part of a campaign where they aim to replicate their 2024 championship success. The men’s season for Glamorgan is set to commence with a County Championship Division Two fixture at home against Leicestershire on Friday 4 April. The recently established Glamorgan women’s team will make its inaugural appearance in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, playing against Sussex on 19 April, also at Sophia Gardens. The locations for their remaining home 50-overs matches in League Two are yet to be determined, with the competition concluding in a final match at Worcester. The men’s squad will travel to Bristol for a Championship round two encounter with Gloucestershire, followed by a much-anticipated trip to compete against Middlesex the subsequent week. Additional four-day games are scheduled for mid-summer, incorporating two rounds in late July in addition to the two already set for June. A notable fixture, a visit to Old Trafford to play against relegated Lancashire, is scheduled to begin on 29 July. In 2024, Glamorgan concluded the Division Two season in sixth place among the eight participating teams. For the 2025 season, the men’s One Day Cup competition has been restructured, with Derbyshire, Hampshire, and Worcestershire now part of Glamorgan’s group, having exchanged positions with Sussex, Warwickshire, and Yorkshire. Notts Outlaws, Essex, Surrey, Gloucestershire, and Leicestershire Foxes are set to remain as the other opposing teams within Group A. Mark Wallace, Glamorgan’s director of cricket, commented: “Getting the full list of fixtures is always an exciting point of the year as you start to look forward to the season. We look forward to trying to defend our Metro Bank One Day Cup trophy when we get around to August.” Aimee Rees, Glamorgan’s head of women and girls cricket, stated: “It’s great to see the men’s and women’s competition on an equal footing. The women’s squad are excited to be playing in the Metro Bank One Day Cup alongside the Glamorgan Men’s team. This is another big stride for the women’s game here at Glamorgan.”
