The legal proceedings for John Alford, a former actor known for his role in London’s Burning, concerning charges of sex offences involving two girls who were minors, have been postponed. Alford, aged 53, who initially gained recognition as a child performer in Grange Hill, had been scheduled to commence a seven-day trial at St Albans Crown Court. Identified by his legal name, John Shannon, Alford faces four accusations of engaging in sexual activity with a child under 16 years old. Additionally, he is charged with two counts pertaining to a second female, specifically sexual assault and assault by penetration. The ex-actor, who resides in Holloway, north London, previously entered a plea of not guilty to these charges during an earlier court appearance. These alleged offences reportedly took place in April 2022.
