New double yellow lines, signifying no waiting at any time, are slated for installation on roads in Grimsby and Laceby following concerns regarding parking. A brief segment of Laceby High Street will receive double yellow lines to enhance visibility for vehicles exiting Alfred Bannister Mews. Restrictions will also be implemented along a portion of Wybers Way and at the terminus of Timberley Drive in Grimsby. This decision comes after residents and ward councillors expressed concerns about parking in these areas, particularly by work vans. Both proposals garnered multiple objections but were ultimately approved by North East Lincolnshire Council. The new double yellow lines in Laceby will encompass the junction of Laceby High Street with Alfred Bannister Mews and extend to either side of it, exclusively on the left-hand side of the high street. During a previous site visit, a road safety officer identified “a number of issues” where parked vehicles resulted in “limited or no visibility” for residents driving out of the Mews. On Wybers Way, the double yellow lines will cover the Timberley Drive side of the road, commencing there and concluding before the junction with St Nicholas Drive. These new restrictions address concerns raised by ward councillors and residents regarding poor visibility of oncoming traffic due to vehicles parked on Wybers Way. The schemes received approval from councillor Stewart Swinburn, North East Lincolnshire Council’s portfolio holder for housing, infrastructure and transport, as reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
