Rail services operating between Lewes and Eastbourne are experiencing disruption due to damage caused by a fire. Southern Rail trains on this route are subject to delays or cancellations for the remainder of the day, impacting stations including Polegate, Berwick, and Glynde. National Rail has stated that pylons adjacent to the track, which sustained structural damage from a previous fire, are scheduled for repair. This disruption will also impact trains traveling from London Victoria and Brighton towards Eastbourne and Ore, which will instead terminate at Lewes. Passengers may use their tickets on Brighton & Hove bus services where feasible. Separately, a train breakdown occurring between Uckfield and Crowborough has also led to service cancellations. Services from London Bridge to Uckfield are expected to terminate at Crowborough until approximately 13:00 GMT. The Brighton & Hove 29 bus service offers an alternative travel option between these two towns; however, no alternative route is available for travel to and from Buxted.
