Police investigators are appealing for anyone possessing video footage of a suspected hit-and-run incident on Bonfire Night, which resulted in injuries to six individuals, to make contact with them. A Volkswagen Golf vehicle collided with the group on Bob Massey Close in Openshaw, Manchester, at approximately 20:30 GMT on Tuesday, as reported by Greater Manchester Police. Among those injured were three children and three adults, with one man sustaining life-changing injuries. A 36-year-old man, who had been taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, has since been released on bail. He was also apprehended on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, failing to stop for police, and possession of drugs with intent to supply. Detective Constable Jake Horler-Newsham, from the force’s serious collision investigation unit, stated: “We know there was a large number of people out that evening watching the fireworks. We are keen to obtain more evidence in the form of mobile phone videos, CCTV and doorbell footage to help us with our enquiries.” Anyone with information concerning the incident is urged to contact law enforcement.
