Marti Cifuentes, the head coach for QPR, has stated that the “brutal” character of the Championship necessitates considerable ongoing effort from his team to avoid relegation this season. The Rs recently secured a 0-0 draw against Watford on Saturday, contributing to a total of five points from a possible nine within a week, which has somewhat alleviated the pressure on both the manager and the club following a challenging start to the season. Speaking to BBC Radio London, Cifuentes remarked, “We said to the players we need to keep the faith, we need to trust the process but there’s still a lot of work to do, we’re still down there.” He further elaborated, “The reality is this league is brutal and we need to be better at our good games to get the points and in those days when we are not that good we need to be able to compete and get points as well.” Despite a three-game unbeaten streak that has moved QPR from the bottom position in the Championship standings, the team remains two points shy of a safe position. Upcoming home fixtures include matches against Norwich City and Oxford United. Cifuentes also added, “The players are proud about how the week has gone and about how we are competing against all the factors which have been tough for us but we need to keep going because we need more points and more performances like that.” Post navigation David Gray: Hibernian Hierarchy Backs Data, But Results Are Essential Manchester City’s Unbeaten Premier League Run Ends with Bournemouth Defeat
