Law enforcement officials have issued an alert following numerous accounts of minors illegally accessing rooftops and causing harm in a town located in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire Police reported that during a recent occurrence, as many as 20 youths were observed climbing structures in West Bridgford. A still image from CCTV footage, made public by the police force, depicted several individuals positioned on a rooftop at 17:06 GMT on 23 November. Additionally, incidents involving business break-ins, high-level graffiti, and other acts of vandalism have been documented. According to police statements, a total of 11 incidents were recorded in August, followed by seven in September, and five in October. Previously, a 14-year-old male was apprehended on suspicion of criminal damage in connection with one event, and law enforcement officers have removed several young individuals from rooftops. PC Matt Holden stated that those responsible were “risking serious injury or worse” and called for assistance to address the problem. He further added, “In particular, we’d ask parents to check where their children are during the evenings and make it clear to them about the risks involved.” He concluded by stating, “It is also important these young people understand they are committing offences by behaving in this way, and we will deal robustly with those found to be involved.” For updates, follow BBC Nottingham on Facebook, X, or Instagram.
