Glenavon manager Stephen McDonnell characterized the day as “frustrating” following his team’s 3-0 loss to bottom-of-the-table Loughgall at Lakeview Park. This result means McDonnell’s side has achieved only three victories in their first 15 league games. The goals from Jordan Gibson, Nathaniel Ferris, and Jamie Rea brought Dean Smith’s side level on points with Carrick Rangers, while Glenavon remains four points ahead in 10th position. McDonnell informed BBC Sport NI, “We created an awful lot and just on the day we weren’t able to capitalise.” He further elaborated, “They’ve broken off a couple of mistakes and we have been really punished and punished hard.” McDonnell concluded by stating, “You lose the game, you lose it well in the end, but it was never a 3-0 game.” Glenavon is now on a four-game winless streak, having drawn with Carrick Rangers and Cliftonville, and suffered a defeat against Ballymena United. The team will seek to return to winning ways on Tuesday night when they are scheduled to play Armagh City in the League Cup. McDonnell continued, “We have had an honest and frank conversation, and we will analyse what went wrong and what we need to do better ultimately which is putting the ball in the back of the net.” He expressed optimism for the upcoming match, adding, “The beauty of football is you get another chance and we get another chance on Tuesday to rewrite a lot of the wrongs from today.” Post navigation Exeter Coach Rob Baxter Prioritizes Quality Over Quantity in Squad Additions Scottish Football Rumours: Miller’s £4m Valuation, Schmeichel’s Contract, Deeney’s Past Offer
