Law enforcement officials have confiscated cannabis with an estimated street value of £155,000 following enforcement actions in South Yorkshire. On Tuesday, officers located over 120 cannabis plants cultivated within a terraced residence in Doncaster’s Hyde Park area, alongside approximately 35 plants discovered at a property situated in Rotherham’s Boston Castle area. South Yorkshire Police confirmed the arrest of a 23-year-old male in connection with the plants found in Rotherham, on suspicion of involvement in cannabis production. He has since been released on bail, pending further investigations. Inspector John Crapper commented, stating: “Cannabis isn’t a harmless drug. It is often linked to organised crime gangs who tar our local communities with misery and violence.”
