Authorities have apprehended a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, following an incident in which a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle. Lancashire Police reported that the victim, identified as a man in his 40s, was hit by a Suzuki Swift on Fylde Road in Preston shortly after 20:30 GMT on Saturday. The vehicle involved did not remain at the location where the man was pronounced deceased, the police force further stated. The individual taken into custody, a 24-year-old man from Preston, is currently undergoing questioning by police. Investigators are urging any witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam footage relevant to the incident to present themselves.
