Two individuals have been apprehended and £28,000 in currency, alongside illicit drugs and Rolex timepieces, have been confiscated by law enforcement officials, following a disturbance that occurred outside a central city establishment. Merseyside Police carried out these arrests subsequent to an event on Mathew Street in Liverpool on Saturday evening. During this incident, a male individual was apprehended and discovered to be carrying “a large wrap of white powder and a large quantity of cash”. A search warrant executed at his residential property subsequently resulted in officers locating an additional £28,000 in currency, suspected heroin, cannabis, watches, and various other articles at a residence in Kirkby. While the search was underway, a female individual present at the address was also taken into custody and subsequently arrested. A 38-year-old man, identified as being from Kirkby, has been taken into custody on suspicion of several offenses: possession with intent to supply Class A drugs; possession with intent to supply Class B drugs; possession of criminal property; and public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Furthermore, a 37-year-old woman, who was also present at the location, was apprehended and arrested on suspicion of involvement in the supply of Class and Class B drugs, as well as possession of criminal property. According to Merseyside Police, both individuals have since been released on conditional bail while additional investigations are conducted. Chief Inspector Chris Ruane commented, stating: “It is fair to say that this night out didn’t end exactly as planned, and now a man and woman will be under investigation in connection with multiple offences.“The door staff and our officer acted swiftly and decisively to deal with and detain the man, and to prevent any further incidents”.” Authorities have appealed to anyone possessing relevant information to contact them.
