Law enforcement officials have reported that a 13-year-old girl, discovered with stab wounds beside a major thoroughfare in East Yorkshire, is currently in a “critical but stable” state at the hospital. The adolescent was located with injuries, including stab wounds and lacerations, to her neck, abdomen, chest, and back near the A63 in Hessle around 06:50 GMT on Friday. Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers of Humberside Police, who is overseeing the inquiry, stated that the individuals responsible for the attack on the girl were known to her. He also indicated that four boys, aged 14, 15, 16, and 17, along with two girls, aged 14 and 15, who were apprehended on suspicion of attempted murder close to the discovery site of the teenager, are still being held in custody. Det Supt Vickers remarked: “Over the course of the last 24 hours, my team have been conducting extensive lines of inquiry to ascertain exactly why this incident happened and to understand the circumstances that led to the attack on the 13-year-old girl.” He further expressed gratitude to members of the public who had assisted the girl and those who had provided information to the police regarding the incident. “Officers remain in and around the area throughout today and the weekend, should anybody wish to speak with them regarding any concerns they have,” Det Supt Vickers stated. Police confirmed that security cordons established around a wooded section of the A63 and Ferriby High Road, where the girl received assistance from the public, have now been removed. Authorities urged anyone possessing relevant information, especially individuals with dash cam or CCTV recordings from the vicinity, to contact the Humberside police force.
