Chris Wilder, currently in his second tenure as Sheffield United’s manager, has received the EFL Championship manager of the month award for November. During November, Sheffield United remained undefeated, securing 16 points across their six fixtures and moving into first place in the league standings. This marks the second occasion this season that Wilder has been honored with the award, having previously been recognized as the division’s top manager in September. Speaking to the EFL website, Wilder stated, “This award is recognition for a lot of hard work from the players and the staff in the opening months of the season. The rebuild of the squad has been talked about numerous times, what needs to be taken into consideration is that this is a new group, providing a new dynamic, which includes the lads who were here last season. There’s still a lot of work to do but the signs are good.” In December, Sheffield United has accumulated four points from their initial two matches and is scheduled to host Plymouth Argyle on Saturday. Other nominees for the award included Michael Carrick, manager of Middlesbrough; Scott Parker of Burnley; and the departing head coach of Millwall.
