An individual reported being “devastated” after his narrowboat was burgled and subsequently vandalised. Wayne Siverns, who has resided on boats for over 50 years, indicated that his vessel was moored at Wordsley Junction on the Stourbridge canal when the incident occurred. Police confirmed that the narrowboat was burgled on Kinver Street, Dudley, during the period between 22:00 BST on October 9 and 06:30 on October 10. Mr. Siverns discovered his boat had been burgled upon returning from a meeting with friends; after taking a walk to “process everything,” he then returned to find the graffiti. He stated, “I’m probably not going to moor in Stourbridge again.” Mr. Siverns further mentioned that various items were stolen from the boat, including a Victorian school bell, two vintage lamps, and 30 brass whistles. Della Sadler-Moore, a friend of Mr. Siverns, commented that the narrowboat community had provided him with support. She remarked, “He’s been left absolutely distraught by this, it’s his home.” Post navigation Police appeal for witnesses in Oxford sexual assault investigation Steven Lee Imprisoned for Child Abuse Spanning 35 Years
