An individual has been brought before a court, facing charges related to an alleged attempt to assault Britain’s most prolific rapist while incarcerated. Jack McRae stands accused of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm upon Reynhard Sinaga at HMP Wakefield on 4 July 2023. Sinaga received a prison sentence in 2020 following his conviction for drugging and raping 48 men in Manchester, though law enforcement officials indicated at the time their belief that the actual number of his victims was considerably greater. During his appearance at Leeds Magistrates Court, conducted via video-link from HMP Frankland, Mr McRae, aged 32, did not submit a plea. He was subsequently remanded to attend the city’s crown court on 16 January. Additionally, he faces charges for three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of attempting to cause actual bodily harm, and one count of assaulting a prison officer. These incidents are reported to have occurred at HMP Wakefield between May and August 2023. Andrew Beadie, identified as a co-defendant in the proceedings, was scheduled to appear on a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. However, he declined to exit his prison cell at HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire, as informed to the court. The identity of the alleged victim in Mr Beadie’s matter was not disclosed.
