Residents of Canterbury, Kent, are being invited to participate in workshop sessions aimed at generating ideas to assist the city in achieving its net-zero objectives. These 90-minute events, organized by the council, are scheduled for Herne Bay on 5 December and at The Beaney in Canterbury on 6 December. Participants who register for these sessions will receive a payment of £20 for their involvement. According to Canterbury City Council, the “immersive workshops” are designed to feature videos, discussions, and interactive voting on various proposed strategies. The council further stated that these sessions, funded and developed by the innovation agency Nesta, are intended to gather individuals to brainstorm concepts related to emerging technologies and more efficient lifestyles within the district. Additionally, private sessions are being conducted with social housing tenants and students enrolled at Canterbury College. Mel Dawkins, the cabinet member for environment and climate change, commented: “We know climate change is already impacting communities around the world but this is a valuable opportunity to look at what it means for Canterbury on a local level and what a better future could look like for our residents.“Feedback gathered in the workshops will help us understand what matters most to local people and why, so please book your space on a workshop to have your voice heard.” Post navigation Homes Evacuated After Sinkhole Emerges on Housing Estate Orkney Farmer Faces Persistent Geese Problem Despite Extensive Deterrent Efforts
