Authorities have apprehended two men subsequent to an incident involving approximately 50 individuals at a nightclub situated in Bradbury Place, south Belfast. During the occurrence, five police officers sustained injuries. Law enforcement was notified of a fight commencing within the nightclub shortly after 02:00 GMT on Sunday. According to police, individuals participating in the altercation had been escorted out of the establishment by security personnel prior to the arrival of officers, but the confrontation persisted on the street. The disturbance continued for a “sustained period”. Chief Inspector Claire Hamilton of the Police Service of Northern Ireland appealed to anyone who recorded or observed the disturbance to contact the police. “We want Belfast to be a safe and enjoyable destination for a night out for bar and night club patrons and it should be said that this disturbance is not typical of our night time economy,” she said. The apprehended men are currently being held in custody. Additionally, several community resolution notices were issued.
