The Metropolitan Police has reported that a 42-year-old man passed away following a dog attack in east London on Wednesday morning. Leanne McDonnell, aged 32, has been apprehended and faces charges in connection with the incident, which occurred on Shirley Road in Stratford. Authorities responded to the location at 04:53 GMT on Wednesday, after receiving notifications of a man sustaining serious injuries. The individual was transported to a hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries, according to the Met. Ms McDonnell faces charges including owning a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death; neglecting her responsibility, as an individual accountable for an animal, to guarantee its welfare; and possessing a fighting dog. Furthermore, she has been charged with three counts of owning a dog dangerously out of control causing no injury, pertaining to a distinct event on 18 November. The animal implicated in both occurrences has been taken into custody by the police, the force verified. Ms McDonnell remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
