An 18-year-old who was a passenger on a motorcycle involved in a police pursuit has died after the vehicle crashed. The incident occurred on 28 October when the motorcycle collided with a car on Harrogate Road in Bradford. West Yorkshire Police had previously stated that the motorcycle did not stop for officers, leading to the authorization of a pursuit shortly before the collision. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) later confirmed that the teenager succumbed to his injuries in hospital on 6 November. A spokesperson conveyed, “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, as well as all those affected by this tragic incident.” The spokesperson further stated, “IOPC investigators have begun the process of gathering and reviewing evidence as we work to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident on 28 October.” The spokesperson also mentioned that another male, who was operating the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries.
