An NHS trust is set to inaugurate a new, complimentary park and ride service. Members of the public will be able to park their vehicles at one of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust’s free car parks and then utilize a bus service to reach its hospitals. The trust stated that the service offers a “more sustainable way” to visit Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital. This initiative is scheduled to commence on 1 January 2025. Buses will operate every half an hour from Monday to Friday, starting at 06:40 GMT and concluding around 21:00, with the exact end time varying by hospital. Free parking at the hospitals will continue to be available for blue badge holders, cancer and renal patients, and parents of babies in the neonatal unit, the trust confirmed.
