A man has been incarcerated following an incident where he forcibly entered the home of a 71-year-old and threatened the occupant with a piece of wood. Ashley Moss, 36, from Earsham Close, Hull, was charged with aggravated burglary in connection with the incident that occurred on 16 February. Police stated that Moss stole £500 from the victim’s wallet, along with cigarettes and tobacco, before fleeing the scene. On Wednesday, he received a sentence of seven years and two months in prison at Hull Crown Court, having entered a guilty plea. PC Nicola Knight, of Humberside Police, stated: “Any intrusion into a person’s property is bound to be a terrifying ordeal, but the involvement of a weapon understandably left the victim shaken.” She added: “I hope the outcome provides the public with some reassurance that incidents like this will not be tolerated.” Post navigation BBC Delays Publication of Tim Westwood Report Following Metropolitan Police Request Brother and Friends Undertake Memorial Bike Ride for Man Found Deceased in Turkey
