West Ham Manager Lopetegui Travels to Spain for Father’s Funeral

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui has traveled to Spain to be present at his father’s funeral service. During the manager’s absence, coaching staff members Pablo Sanz and Edu Rubio are overseeing training sessions. There is a possibility that Lopetegui will be back for the Premier League match against Brighton scheduled for Saturday. His father, Jose, who passed away at the age of 94, was known as a champion weightlifter and had competed in the traditional Basque sport of stone-lifting. A spokesperson for the club issued a statement on Wednesday, conveying: “The thoughts and sincere condolences of everyone at the club are with Julen, his family and friends, and we kindly ask that their privacy is respected at this time.” Sandi Toksvig is accompanied by Gyles Brandreth, Lulu, Emmanuel Sonubi, and Alan Davies.
