Law enforcement officials report that a teenage girl was pursued by a man before being compelled into a vehicle. Avon and Somerset Police stated that eyewitnesses observed the girl, believed to be in her mid-to-late teens, being trailed by a car near the intersection of The Batch and Shadwell Lane in Wincanton, Somerset, at approximately 22:30 GMT on Tuesday. The male driver subsequently exited the vehicle and chased the girl along Shadwell Lane, ultimately forcing her into the car, which then departed. Police personnel indicated that the vehicle contained “multiple people.” Descriptions of the driver indicate he is white, in his early 20s, of medium build, and somewhat taller than the girl, who is approximately 5ft 5ins tall. His hair was light brown and extended below his ears. The vehicle involved is characterized as a dark-coloured five-door hatchback. Inspector Rose Green stated: “This incident will understandably cause significant concern and a thorough investigation is already well underway to fully establish the circumstances and ensure the girl is safe.” Law enforcement personnel have been conducting inquiries in the vicinity throughout the day, which includes examining CCTV recordings. They are urging anyone who observed the event or possesses relevant information to contact them.
