An individual convicted of paedophilia, who initiated the sexual abuse of a girl at the age of four, has received a prison sentence. Jordan Blenkinship, 32, residing in Blackpool, was found guilty of 10 historical child sexual offenses committed against the victim. These offenses spanned a two-year period and took place over ten years prior. Detective Constable Callum Shackleton, affiliated with Greater Manchester Police (GMP), characterized Blenkinship as “the worst type of predator”. Blenkinship, despite denying the charges, received a six-year jail sentence at Manchester Crown Court Minshull Street. Additionally, Blenkinship, whose address is Livingstone Road, was issued a lifetime sexual harm prevention order, which includes stringent limitations. According to GMP, he was apprehended in 2010 following information provided by an acquaintance of the victim, but he denied the offenses during questioning by investigators. The police force further stated that nearly ten years later, the victim stepped forward and cooperated with a police investigation aimed at revealing Blenkinship’s crimes. GMP reported that the victim expressed a desire to empower other individuals who have endured similar experiences and to convey a message to other young people that seeking justice for past abuse is possible, regardless of how much time has passed. Blenkinship was arrested again in 2019 and once more denied the offenses; however, due to the compelling evidence, officers successfully brought 10 distinct charges for sexual offenses against the girl, as stated by GMP. Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Callum Shackleton commented: “Blenkinship has absolutely no remorse for the physical and mental trauma he has subjected the victim to.” Shackleton continued: “He is the worst kind of predator, and he is now behind bars and will no longer pose as a threat to children.” He further stated: “His arrest and subsequent conviction is only the start of the healing process for the victim of his despicable crimes who I hope with the right support will be able to move forwards with her life.” Shackleton concluded: “She is a survivor and has showed unwavering strength to come forward and work closely with us on this case.”
