A cockapoo that became stranded on a ledge was successfully reunited with its owner, thanks to the intervention of mountain rescue volunteers. The dog was located several metres above a beck in Caldbeck, near Wigton, Cumbria, in a position that the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) described as “too risky” to access otherwise. On Sunday, eight volunteers responded to assist the animal, establishing a rope rescue system to enable a volunteer to reach it. Following the successful retrieval, both the rescuer and the dog were brought back up to the path, and the cockapoo was subsequently returned to its owner.
