The British Army has issued an “unreserved apology” after reports emerged of two soldiers appearing in Nazi uniforms at a local Halloween event. These military personnel are reportedly members of the Queen’s Royal Hussars, a unit stationed in Tidworth, Wiltshire. An army spokesperson stated, “As soon as they became aware of the incident, the unit’s chain of command acted immediately to inform the Royal Military Police and a formal investigation is now under way.” While the army did not disclose the identities of the individuals, it commented that “their actions demonstrated serious and significant shortfalls in judgement and conduct.” An online report by the Daily Mail concerning the event featured images of two men wearing military-style dress uniforms adorned with swastika armbands and caps displaying Nazi insignia.
