The event, which occurred at a residence on a street close to the town centre, was brought to the attention of Sussex Police on Saturday at 19:00 GMT. Individuals from the public who observed any suspicious conduct in the vicinity are urged to get in touch with the police. The individual suspected is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 30 years, dressed in a black hooded top and dark tracksuit trousers. The police force stated that reviews of CCTV footage and interviews with witnesses were underway in the area, noting further that the victim is receiving support from officers with specialized training.
