Graffiti artist Inkie, based in Bristol, has created a limited-edition soap. These ‘Soap with Hope’ bars, produced by The Somerset Toiletry Company, are intended to generate funds for a local initiative assisting rough sleepers. Proceeds from the sales will benefit Billy Chip, a social enterprise dedicated to aiding the city’s homeless population. Among the 1,000 bars available, ten will include a golden ticket redeemable for a signed Inkie print valued at £100. Additionally, BillyChip offers tokens, each worth £2, which individuals can purchase and distribute to homeless people. These tokens can then be exchanged for a hot meal and a drink at participating cafes and food establishments. Jon Hope, Co-Founder of Billy Chip, commented on the collaboration, stating: “The team at The Somerset Toiletry Company have supported us for many years and to see Inkie – a Bristol based artist – design this soap and mural has been incredible.” He further added, “We look forward to launching Soap with Hope as a unique Christmas gift for art lovers, helping us raise money to support those spending the festive break on the streets.” This particular soap initiative is part of 25 ‘acts of kindness’ undertaken by the toiletry company as it commemorates its 25th anniversary. Zantore Buoy, Associate Director at The Somerset Toiletry Company, remarked: “We will hang Inkie’s work in our factory proudly for many years to come.”
