An individual has been taken into custody after being observed with a sword inside a McDonald’s restaurant. Armed police units were dispatched to the fast-food establishment, situated on Ashgate Road in Hucknall, on Tuesday, shortly before 14:00 GMT, following reports of an armed person. The suspect was confronted outside the eatery and subsequently arrested. Police confirmed that a 23-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. A police dog was also deployed during the operation. The sword, which was encased in a wooden sheath, has been confiscated.
