Barze Faesal, 30, of no fixed address, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison, with an additional five years on licence, following the stabbing of his ex-partner. The incident, which occurred outside a primary school, was described as part of a “vengeful campaign.” Faesal attacked his former partner on 21 May after having stalked her across the country. During the investigation, the victim informed officers that he had been coercive and controlling while they were in a relationship, leaving her “consumed with fear.” The sentencing took place at Luton Crown Court. The victim stated that she had made several attempts to escape the relationship, but Faesal had relentlessly pursued her. The stabbing occurred at approximately 08:30 BST on 21 May, on Dunstable Road, Luton, in close proximity to Beech Hill Community Primary School in Bedfordshire. In August, Faesal pleaded guilty to attempted murder, threats to kill, and stalking. He had previously admitted guilt to possession of a bladed article. Judge Alison Hunter KC characterized the events as a “terrifying and vengeful campaign.” She highlighted that the victim had “sought refuge around the country,” but Faesal had “repeatedly tracked down her whereabouts and caused her to fear her own safety.” The judge further stated that Faesal was “high risk and of serious harm.” Det Supt Emma Pitts, who heads Bedfordshire Police’s Public Protection Unit, affirmed that domestic abuse and violence in any form are “unacceptable,” and the force is dedicated to bringing perpetrators to justice. She commented, “This was a horrific attack on a woman who was targeted in broad daylight by a man who refused to believe their relationship was over.” Ms. Pitts added that the victim lived in fear during their relationship, and this fear persisted even after she tried to leave, as Faesal continued to stalk and abuse her before carrying out his vicious attack. Ms. Pitts urged victims to come forward, assuring them that the force was “here to help.” She concluded by stating, “No woman ever deserves to feel unsafe, and they should be able to leave a relationship without fear.” Post navigation Deceased Stolen Dog Discovered After Month-Long Disappearance Police Boost Patrols After ‘Surge’ in Hare Coursing
