A proposal for 27 residences on a greenfield site has received official approval, notwithstanding a petition with 1,000 signatures opposing the development. Sioned Edwards, representing Cadnant Planning, informed Anglesey council on Tuesday that the properties would be offered at an affordable rent. Officials from the authority confirmed that surface water issues, which were cited as a reason for rejecting a previous application last year, have now been addressed. Councillor Sonia Williams expressed concerns about the potential impact on wildlife, noise levels from the nearby A55, and the risk of flooding. Conversely, Councillor Jeff Evans stated that the arguments against the proposal were insufficient, adding that the application would be granted on appeal if it were to be rejected. Separately, a scheme for 30 affordable homes in Llandegfan also received the council’s endorsement. Copyright 2024 BBC. All rights reserved.
