An individual has been charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred in a town centre. The incident, which took place on Sunday evening at Highgate, Kendal, in Cumbria, involved a man in his 20s who was stabbed in the chest. Cumbria Police reported that his injuries are “serious but non-life-threatening,” and he remains hospitalized. A 22-year-old has been accused of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article. He made an appearance before Barrow Magistrates’ Court and was subsequently remanded for a further appearance at Carlisle Crown Court on 6 December. A police spokesman confirmed: “This is being treated as an isolated incident, with no ongoing risk to the public.” Despite this, investigators continue to request that anyone with information who has not yet come forward contact them.
