Increased Coastliner Bus Frequency for York and Leeds Route

Transdev, the operator of the North Yorkshire Coastliner, has introduced an “improved service” by incorporating additional buses into its schedule. This service, which was previously recognized as Britain’s most scenic bus route, had recently been perceived to be at risk due to potential budget reductions. A decrease in customer numbers in 2022 nearly resulted in the discontinuation of certain sections of the route, prompting the initiation of a campaign to preserve the service. The operator announced that passengers will now observe a bus every 20 minutes between Leeds, Tadcaster, and York during weekdays. Certain journeys destined for York will now terminate at Clifford’s Street, as opposed to The Stonebow. Furthermore, later bus services have been introduced between York and Leeds, along with extra trips connecting Scarborough and Tadcaster.
