Burnley forward Lyle Foster, who sustained a knee injury during the international break in mid-October, might be available for the Clarets’ upcoming game against West Bromwich Albion on Thursday night, pending the results of his medical scans. The 24-year-old has been sidelined by a knee issue but is “not too far away” from returning, according to head coach Scott Parker. Fellow forward Nathan Redmond and defender Hjalmar Ekdal are also progressing towards full fitness. Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is “getting there” and participating in training sessions, although he continues to recover from his cruciate ligament injury. Foster’s potential comeback would offer crucial attacking support for a team currently struggling to score goals. However, Parker cautioned that “there is no magic wand” to achieve immediate progress. The Clarets have managed to score only four goals in their last seven matches and failed to register a single shot on target during their 1-0 defeat to Millwall on Sunday, a performance Parker described as “nowhere near good enough”. “We have some issues now in terms of our attacking side of the game. We are focusing on that more than ever,” Parker informed BBC Radio Lancashire. He added, “70 or 80% of our training programme now is around us getting in the final third, trying to improve, trying to get us to be the team we want to be.” Parker concluded, “We want to be a free-flowing, dynamic football team.” Post navigation Hearts Draw 1-1 with Aberdeen, Remain at Scottish Premiership Bottom Feedback Sought on Liverpool’s 2-0 Victory Over Manchester City
