A jury has acquitted a teenager previously charged with the murder of his father, following an incident involving a stabbing. Ainsley Lowton, aged 18, had previously confessed to causing the death of James Lowton, 44, on 28 May, outside their residence located on Addison Street in Tibshelf, Derbyshire. However, he maintained that he “did so in self-defence and did not mean to kill him.” The verdict of not guilty to murder was delivered by a jury at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday afternoon. Subsequently, Mr. Lowton has been released from the court’s proceedings.
