Law enforcement officials investigating the rape of a woman in Hastings, East Sussex, have made public CCTV footage showing an individual they wish to question. The man was recorded on Queens Road at approximately 18:25 GMT on 30 November, shortly before the assault occurred on a nearby street. Detectives indicate that the man may possess crucial information. This action follows the distribution of an E-fit image earlier on Wednesday. Chief Inspector Simon Yates stated: “We are urgently seeking to identify this man, who we believe may hold vital information about this serious crime which left a young woman in extreme distress.” He added: “She continues to receive support from specialist officers as our enquiries continue.” Yates further urged: “Time is of the essence, and I would encourage the public to share our appeal as far as possible in an attempt to identify and locate this man.” Police reported that the attacker was not known to the woman.
