A community cafe in Shrewsbury has announced its impending closure, citing escalating operational expenses. Cafe Connect, located in Radbrook and managed by church volunteers within a Co-op premises, is scheduled to conclude its 22 years of service on Christmas Eve. Management conveyed this information via Facebook, expressing the news “with the heaviest of hearts” and acknowledging that the challenging future had been apparent “for some time.” Nevertheless, the announcement specified that the team intends to continue organizing future events and activities. The establishment attributed its decision to “rapidly” increasing prices, along with rising staffing expenditures and declining volunteer participation. The upcoming lease renewal also played a role in the determination. A statement from the cafe affirmed, “This isn’t a decision we’ve made at all lightly and we know how disappointing it will be for so many.” It concluded with the sentiment, “Our doors may be closing but our hearts remain very much open.” Post navigation Royal Mail Apologizes for Service Delays in South East England Maersk’s Port Relocation to London Gateway Expected to Boost Regional Commerce
